Makita Miter Saw LS1014
This saw is not for professionals. The LS1014 is a good choice if you are looking for a beginner miter saw to do household carpentry. The LS1014 has all the features you would expect from a mitersaw.

Things We Didn’t Like:
- However, it is a corded version. This can pose a problem depending on the location. The cord is not necessary if you intend to place it on a permanent basis. This will result in the loss of the main benefit, which is its 124kg.
The bottom line: This model is affordable and sturdy enough for beginners or homeowners who need a miter saw to do occasional weekend jobs.
Makita Miter Saw LS 1018 25 Cm Dual Slide
This model is a significant step up from the LS 1016. Corded, same problem there. Weighing 198kg, that’s almost 15 extra pounds.

Things We Didn’t Like
- Again, lack of portability

Bottom line: This model is better than the 1014 if you are frequently in your workshop. People who were unable to make perfect square cuts before using the LS1018 are common reactions to this saw.
Makita Miter Saw LS1019L 25 Cm Dual-Bevel
This miter saw is a significant upgrade to the previous models. We liked the features found in the Makita miter-saws.

Makita Miter Saw XSL06Z 25 Cm Cordless
You want 4,400 rpm with no cord? You don’t need a cord to make a Makita miter saw. This professional-grade saw has all the same features as the LS1019L. It includes laser, increased cutting capability, and a 30 cm cutting limit.
Things We Enjoyed
- It offered all the same features as the LS1019L, but at a comparable price.
Things We Didn’t Like
- The price of batteries. These will cost an additional couple hundred dollars.
- The weight. More than 32 kg You might have to pay for this portability.
If you already have Makita products with large capacity batteries, this will not be a problem.
Bottom line: This product is a great choice for anyone who needs an extremely precise machine.
Makita Saw Tables
Makita makes accessories! There are three options: WST06, WST05 and WST01N.
The WST01N appears to be a basic model, with a smaller footprint and limited height flexibility. This table can hold 227kg, so it is worth looking at.
The WST06 and the 05 have very little in common. Both models can hold 100kg and have spring-loaded mechanisms. They are also similar in size. The only difference is the number of height adjustments. The 05 model has 2, while the 06 has 5.
The WST01N is able to hold more weight but it doesn’t hold the miter saw quite as securely. You want it to be secure, especially considering how much you have spent on the tool. Why Makita tools?
Makitas tools were initially designed for professional-grade use and sold as such. Makita started to sell tools that were geared towards the home handyman in order to increase its market share. Makita tools are professional-grade and suitable for non-professionals.
Many innovations have been pioneered by the company. Makita invented the 6500D in 1969. It was the first ever rechargeable power tool, a portable drill. The drill was still cordless, but the battery that powered it was held in place by an attached component. It did however mean greater portability.
Makita developed a drill that could be carried anywhere in 1978. When drilling, professionals no longer needed to carry long cords.
Last Thoughts
The 25 cm models are my favorite. Makita designed them to fit in places larger machines can’t. Makita offers a staggering array of accessories that can be used with its tools.
Makita doesn’t have the same market share as it used to due to the rise of Ryobi and DeWalt, but that is more due to quality than price.
